HIGH EXPLOSIVE WRECKS

SEVEN MEN BLOWN TO ATOMS.
By releerash-Presa Assfwialion-Ooorrttli London, February 20. An explosion occurred- in the mixing house at Nobel's explosive manufactory at Ardeer. The mixing house contained 60001b. of gelatine, and it is believed that some of the gelatine exploded during conveyance from the building. Tho noiso was heard forty miles away, 'land terrible havoo was caused at the factory. Seven persons inside wero blown to pieces, and four outside were injured, one fatally. Four others had miraculous escapes. No trace of tho structure remained. A second explosion occurred in the sample house. Buildings for miles around wore shaken to their foundations, and terror reigned in the neighbourhood. In tho villages residents rushed into tho streets, and horses stampeded. ' ' ■ , The glass roof of the Ardocr Foundry collapsed, and fell on three Hundred workmen, many of whom were severely cut'. One hundred girls , employed in huts adjacent to tho mixing-house wero thrown into a serious panic. Many of thorn fainted, while the fragments of flying timber injured several of them, cno girl being "severely hurt. London, February 21. 'The remains of tho victims of the Ardeer disaster were scattered in all directions. Fragments wero excavated from the sand dunes, while portions of tho timber wore found five miles distant..
