Tho-hearing of the caso is being heard with closed doors' at Nesreitz. Twentysix witnesses have been called: / , •Intense public interest lias boon aroused, and special trains are bringingthe Count's society friends and journalists from all parts, of Austria and Germany. • A .dramatic feature of the trial will be the reproduction of tho tragedy. Judges and witnesses will bo taken to the Count's castlo in the night time by special train. The Count's hemorrhage is due to his shooting in 1895. It is so serious as to make it likoly that he will not live- long. He pleads guilty, but states that, under provocation, ho fired the fatal shot on the spur of the moment.
Count Mielcznski murdered his wife and nephew, -whom he found together in his wife' 9 room. Tie count declared that his wife was under an undesirablo influence. Her. relations with the nephew; Count Mianczyski, were the talk of the neighbourhood. The murders caused a sensation in Germany. After his arrest the "Bed Count" broko down from hemorrhage of the lungs, to which he is liable. The Public Prosecutor states that tho alleged crimes were- committed while Mielcznski was suffering from jealousy and mental excitement.
