Lofidon t February 18. 'An amendment to tho Address-in- : Rflply, claiming that tho 190S Budget is Undermining the security of luniso and land property, was rejected by 300 votes to 213. Mr. Lloyd-George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, declared that agricultural wages had been steadily increasing since--1009 Unemployment in the building trp.do had deorensod, and wages increased. Tho debate was utilised to hce-Me Mr. Lloyd-George on his land policy. There Was much acrimony and. uproar. The Speaker intervened in exchanges between Mr, Runohnan (President of the Board of Agriculture) and Lord Hugh Cecil, and, Mr. RuneimaH and Mr. \Y. 11, Long. The Speaker- 1 also reprimanded Lord Holmslcy for in-, terrupting the debate with running; comment. ' 1
