BRILLIANT METEOR.
OBSERVED FROM A STEAMER, By Telegraph—Prtee New 'York, February. 18. Passengers arriving, ex steamship Lapland report that a brilliant meteor' plunged into the ocean in. close proximity to tho steamer. The meteor exploded with a, report like a cannon, as it sank beneath tho waves. Tho passengers were afraid that the vessel would bo hit.
