HOSPITAL BOARD.
. The monthly meeting of the \\ «llmgton Hospital and ; Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. There were present:-Tho Rev. AV. A. Evans (chairman), Dr. D.K. Us, Mrs. b M'Laron, the Rev. J. K. Elliott, tho Rev. H. Van Staveren, Dr. Mackenzie,; Messrs: H. Baldwin, P. Campbell, FGastle, H Freeman, W-■ Galloway, 8.■M'Laren, F. T. Mooro, ,T, W. M/Ewatr, G. Nash, G. J. Eetheriek, and D. Roblertson; - . . Considerable discussion.-, was. raised over thoproposal of the Hospital.Committee to reply to the secretary of two Wellington Stationary, Traction, and Locomotive Engine-drivers* Union, ro wages of the onginc-driyers employed at the Hospital, to the effect that the board was agreeable to. pay {the award rates, but the existing privileges (meala and annual holidays on full pay) would be withdrawn. The. chairman of the committee explained that under the award the men would be better off than at present. It was decided to refer the report back for further consideration.' It'was decided that donations from an anonymous donor df £125 for tho establishment of a Convalescent Fund nt the Hospital, and £12-5 to the Victoria Home for Incurables, bhftuld, with tho Government subsidy, n.u treated s'S separate" fund accounts, and tbat_ the amounts bo invested so hat the interest thereon may bo. utilised for thtt purposo for which the donations were given. Statistics for the month of January wero received ris tolknvc.:—Otnki Hospital: 12 admitted, 16 discharged, S under treatment. Otnki Sanatorium: 6 admitted, 3 discharged, 2 transferred to hospital, 13 males and 13 females tin* der treatment.
