Mrs. Luke reported that tile firo brigade' liad decided to assist in the tloral fete, and.'that Mrs. J. P. Firth had promised to doirata- two prizes' for tho decorated go-carts and pefaitfbulators on tho condition that each volucle contained a baby. Mi'. A. Mairyatt proposed that a third of tho excess revenue {aver and above ordinary revenue) of tile electric tramways should be donated to the Carnival Fund. Mr. 0, G. 'Wilson seconded. tho proposal. 11l connection with this matter, the Mayor, whilst in full sympathy with the said that it would bo setting Up what might prove a very undesirable precedent, and would very much prefer if tho committee would allow thp Trnmways Board to malto a donation to tho funds, instead of stipulating a certain proportion of tho excess rovemio occasioned by. the Carnival.
