EXTENSION OF LYALL BAY' LINE. (a) Route. A single line of' tramway commencing at a point on the existing loop immediately north, of the'northern building line ot Lyall Parade,- and proceeding then southwards along, Orfepu Road aop links to Lyall Parade; thence in a generally south-westerly direction along Lyall.ParSdo il distance of- 1930 links, theiice north along the Queen's Drive-a distance 0f'670 links, thence cast along Rua Street a distance of 670 links, thence in Lyall Parado going in a north-easterly direction a distance.of 240 links;-thence forming, part of a-double track along Lyall Parade and Onepn Road running in i generally north-easterly direction-a distance of 839 links to, its junction with the existing track in Onepu Road. ■ The total length of the tramway hereby authorised is 46 chains 40 links from its starting point in :Onepu'-Road to its junction with the existing'line in Onepu Road. Tile system is known as the Doubio Insulator system, and- is so constructed that no insulation depends on any one insulator. The overhead line is put up.' in' half-mile sections, and--'arrangements .will bo liia'de. to-fuse and break-these 'sections and so isolate any one section at any. momeiit.. Current will be supplied along the overhead line a? 500 to 550 volts or..thereabouts. The rails are to bo.of substantial constriction,' and of 95 pounds weight per yard section.
