MT. HECTOR TRACK.

The Mount Hector Tourists' Track Committee met on Monday night., Mr. D. P. Loasby was in the chair. • Correspondence was road from Sir Walter Buchanan, referring to a hut to be built on Mount Hector. The Works Committee mot after tho general meeting, arid decided that the track shonld be made and improved from the Tauherenikau River up Bull Mound to Omeßa,' so as to give an easier, grade; to cut the track on the left-hand side of Omega, so as to avoid the swamp, and then follow on.to Alpha. This track is through more or less bush country. From Alpha the track will take a, circuitous course to Mount Hector, with, probably a wife guidb lajd on •the ground and pegged where necessary. • The hut question was held over untiu the track is under way, so that it can bo, soen what timber, etc., can be used for. it.
