The arrival of the northern contingent of horses by special train on Saturday has resulted in training operations at Wingatui assuming a more interesting aspect. - This morning the tracks were kept fairly busy. The plough gallop was most in request, but several horses were also worked on the outside of the course proper. Business commenced shortly after 5 a.m. Flora Macdoilakl, with Miss Kolmar assisting her'in the early stages, ran over a mile, on the plough in lmin. 47sec., without being hustled. Kilrain was'striding out nicely when he commenced to run a mile on. the plough, but was easing up towards the finish when he recorded a tick under lmin. •18sec. Moulu led Brocade home in a sprint over three furlongs'in 391-osec. on tho grass. Altcar ran down half a mile on the plough in.sl l-sscc. Odessa was travelling freer than Specialform in the first three-quarters of a mile on the plough, but the latter, who ■ was being kept busy all the way, stayed on well towards the end, and both were ridden out when they wound up in lmin. 45 2-osec. Glenfmnan 'was assisted by Masterpiece over a mile in lmin. 51sec, on the plough. The latter broke a leather and Was pulled up in the straight. Veritas strode over the samo ground in lmin. ol l-osec. J.'Beard in the chair, the annual report (read'and adopted)' '.stated-."that ' tlia stewards"' had again much pleasure in submittal a most satisfactory statement of the club's affairs. The receipts wer.t all practicailv better than last year, but fev is a falling off in respect to members' subscriptions. The thanks of the elub were due to Messrs. W. Btckuoll, \. York, and C. Williams for having gone guarantors to'the bank for an overdraft for £75. The .club was still flourishing and tho sport of trotting was becoming more popularjthrojjghtjut tho Dominion every year. The treasurer (Mr. Hanrv) and secretary (Mr. W. Armstrong) were each granted bonuses of £5 ss. and £10 10s. respectively. The election of.officers resulted as follows:—
