In the Magistrate's Co-urt.on Saturday morning, a man • named William M'*Gregor ffas charged with haying oV tained two pair' of. boots en false pre-'to-M.ces from an a&sistiiiit a'f Mr. W. H'. Jjaillie,. bootmaker, and Thomas Lynch was charged with receiving one pair of the .knowing -the same to have fceiitiishqnestly obtained. The first accused pleaded that ho was'drunk at the time, and had uo inteiitifln dC defraud, and the othei , accused said that he had also been drinking, snd did • not know that there was any intention of _ not paying for thfl boots.- Both signified tlicir willingness to' prty if. given a chance l .
