PRINTERS' UNION.
..The half-yearly general meeting of tho Wellington Letterpress Pointers , Lithcrg-raphers', ■ and. .Papei'-tmtters* .Union was held in the' Trades Hail on Saturday evening. The president of the union- (Mr. H. Withington) occupied tiro chair. After discussion; the half-yearly" report and balance-sheet were adopted. Reference was made to the smftiint in arrears, arising, as it was said,- from the neglect, of one or two collectors. . Every election tor officers of the' union was contested: The following were eelctod:—President, Mr. J. jj. Burn; vice-president, Mr. V. Astill; secretary, Mr. J. O'Connor; treasurer, Mf. A. Burn; other members' of committee. Messrs, P..-Hnrnott, C. \i. Blair; and \V. J. Mummery. The retiring president. Mr. Withinaton, did. M*vt seek reelection owing to tiro possibility of the pappei-cutte-rs transferring to tlw Bookbinders, Union-. Amidst cheers 1m was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his service?.
