i The Highland Rifle Club will commence' their -class' firing and - service shooting scries to-day. A programme has.been. drawn up and approved by the Defence authorities, and trophies will be provided out- of tho Government • grajit to rifle clubs. Major Matheson will be in'charge of the trench' to-day.. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. 'At a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Riflo Clubs .011 Friday night, it was announced'that a. 6-U.Ri of money. was in the band's of : each area 'officer,far distribution, to riflo clubs as a grant 'towards - theur prize•. lists, 011 approved programmes. It was decided ■to write the Slinister thanking him for the genuine assistance' he was -giving rifle shooting in the -Dominion. . .' It .was decided t'o write to the Minister asking that the surplus .rifles-, purchased 111 Canada should be available for purchase by rifle clubs.,. after rtJ-1 the Senior Cadets liad-.hfeen armed. Satisfaction was expressed that the Public Service Commissioners had decided 'that members of the service should, under certain conditions, -got lea,to to attend the D.R-A. meeting at Treutliam.
