: ». . ANNUAL MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Press. Association.) Auckland, February'l3; At the annual meeting of tho New Zealand Accountants' and Auditors' Association Mr. F. 'H: Labatt, of Christchurch, presided over a representative attendance from the half-dozen local branches. In moving the adoptiou of the annual report and balance-sheet, Mr. Labatt noted that the membership had been remarkably well maintained, and now stood at 240. It was clear that, whatever tho strength of the arguments advanced for tho dissolution of the association, tho members as a whole considered that its continuance was desirable. In accordance with a resolution passed at the last annual meeting, a ; vote was taken on the question of winding up and the result was that a substantial majority recorded their, vote for continuance. _ The finances of the association were in a satisfactory state, the accumulated funds amounting to £295, as compared with £280 at the close of tho previous year. Officers and' council for the current year were elected as follow:—President, Mr. E. W. Evans (Auckland): vicepresident, Messrs. T. E. Whitton (Auckland), F. P. Corkill (Taranaki); J. C. Port (Wellington), E. Compton (Canterbury), C. 11. Statham, M.P. (Otacro), and W. A. Ott (Southland). Other members of council: Messrs.. H. A. Kcesing, G. O'Halloran, R„ H. A. Potter, and W.' H. Hemingway (Auckland); H. Bailey and R. Ellis (Taranaki); J. M. Fleming, T. Forsyth, J. Kellow ,D. M'TCay. and J; H. G. Rowley (Wellington) ; F. 11. Labatt, C. J. Salter, A. J. Virtue, W. H. Clieesman, and C. H. Basond (Canterbury); G. Blyth, H. Mitchell, J. G. Paterson, W. E. C. Reid, and T. H. Thompson (Otago); R. A. Anderson, J. Cunningham, and W. F. Scandrett (Southland); registrar, Mr. G. W. Hutchinson; auditor, Mr. P. S. Butler. It was decided that the next annual meeting bo held in Wellington.
