Union and a number of tho employers. It was decided to confer , in private, •. and agreement was finally 'arrived'at. It "was .agreed, that .the rate >of pay for journeymen': shipwrights or boatbuilde'rs 'employed on'either new or. repair work j should ha Is. 7d. pet .hour, ■and that tho'rate' of "pay for sea%oing shipwrights should be: Chief or .only shipwright, £11 per calendar niontli, ' and for assistants, £8; overtime to ho ', paid at time and a half up to midnight, ;and double after midnight; apprentices to be paid, for first year,''.los. per week; second 'year, 135.; third year, 17s. 6d.; fourth year,' 225. 6d.fifth year, 275. 6d. "The! a.wai'd' will come into force cn March 1, 1014, and continue until March 1, 1916.
