• The proprietors of Banks's Commercial College, Wellington, draw' attention, in our advertising columns, to their various courses, of tuition. They provide instruction, both by day and evening classes, and by correspondence, in subjects for the law professional, accountancy,' book-keeping, entrance University and Public Service examinations, and for book-keepers', typists', and stenographers' diplomas. The laiv department is un- ' der tho charge of a barrister-at-law, who lias prepared careful and complete sets of lectures in each ; of the subjects. The courses }n accountancy and book-keeping have been designed by Mr. .T. S. Barton, F.1.A., N.Z., solicitor of the Supreme Court, a gentleman of twenty years' varied experience as accountant, banker, and solicitor. All tho instructors in accountancy are certificated accountants and well-known practitioners. The day and ' evening classes for the subjects of tho entrance University and Public Service examinations are. under the control of Mr. H. H. Ornish,- M.A., while the shorthand and typewriting classes are under the canablo management of Miss Bardie, M.I.P.S. The results gained by college students are invariably excellent. Last ■ year, in accountancy, its averago passes was 20 per cent, above that of tho Dominion generally. The other results for 1913 were:—Law, 19 passes out of 27 candidates presented. Entrance University. 17 passes out of 2,' l candidates presented.
