MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL.
The meeting of the M'akara County Council yesterday was attended by Messrs. T. H. Eastwood (in tho chair), J. H. Haggcrty, A. .J. Taylor, F. T. Moore, H. J. Monaphan, Geo. Monk. Mr. Heggarty said he had made an inspection of Marshall's Road and had agreed to pay £5 for repairing it. In futyro ho would see that it was kept inorder. His action was approved. Mr. Jlexted was appointed dog tax registrar, his duties to bo carried , out by September. . On tho motion of Mr. Moore, the clerk was- instructed to write to a resident of Tawa Flat warning him that if lie did not-, tako steps to repair and make habitable a house owned by him within fourteen days the premises would be condemned. Mr. Heggarty was appointed to see that the hand-rail of the bridge at tho top end of Ngahauranga Gorge was replaced, and the matter of filling up holes in the Paparangi and Khandnllah roads was left on the hand? of Mr. Taylor. _ • It has been decided by the Makara County Council to sue for outstanding rates amounting to £2000 if not paid within a fortnight.
