From this it.appears that the competition, which is to extend over twelve mouths, commenced on December 1. At the end of that month tlis! leading pets was Mr. Tom Barron's (England), White Leghorns, which had produced- 206 eggs from ten birds. The bast New Zealand pen was that of Mr. Irvine, of Auckland, with 82, Mr. R, 0. Jarrett being next on the list with 66 from a pen of six birds. Mr. Jarrett secured the- highest record for an individual limi for Australasia, with eighteen, eggs for the month. •The Wairarapa Pipe Band is organising a'bazaar to provide funds with which to pay off its present indebtedness aiid supply extra uniforms. Mr. it. W. Carpenter, formerly of Masterton, but at present of Auckland, has been appointed eidtor of the Pahiatua. "Herald." Dipping operations are mow in progress throughout the Masterton. and Wairarapa. districts.
