Sydnay, February 11.. The wharfmen's overtime strike is general at all ports controlled by tho Federation. Both parties aro awaiting developments; at to-day's meeting, COMPULSORY CONFERENCE. Tho compulsory conference of shipowners and waterside workers to consider the claims put forward by the latter had a short sitting and then adjourned until to-morrow ti consider certain suggestions made :by Mr. Justice Higgins. ■ The message ordering a "lazy strike" was_ to the following' effect:—"Council, having' carefully considered the position created by' the refusal of the ship-owners to grant any concessions, have decided upon a policy, and call -upon branches to adhere loyally thereto; that in pursuance of this policy the council has decided that until further instructions, on and after Monday, 9th February, no overtime is to bo worked by any member of the federation, and that hours of labour bo from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. oach day, and 8 u.m: to noon on Saturday; that we recommend branches to make provision to ensure'-a fairer distribution of work amongst thoir members." .
