Jiarori ihad displayed tho -wrong destiination notice,".a letter was sent 'to the' traffic superintendent stating .that in view of the;-';opposition of tho motor buses it. is essential -that the'. correct destinations'should be shown -on cars. The traffic superintendent replied .that the matter • would bo promptly recti-' - hod. ' An application was received from Mr. H. Eastgate. for a : r,ebate ,of £15, the amount paid-by : him! to'the Wellington • City Council for the installation of electric.'light main from- Karori 'Road-''to Espin .Crescent. ■. Mr. Eastgate .pointedout that eventually this main would be used for street lighting ■ purposes, and that .therefore ..lie thought .tho-Karori CotiucH' should beaiv-thfiVcost,After some diseus?i6n the application was fe*' . fused; A .motion, was passed to the. effect that the traffic sneed limit within the . horough .be restricted t0...15 mile? .an hour. The Mayor stated that notices-to this effect would ho posted in dangerous parts of til© 'borough; • *-!"• Councillor Boyes" drew, attention .to the fact-tliit'it was possiblo'for tho tramways to bo defrauded by people' usjng tho same ticket moro than once. Tho town clerk was instructed to draw' the, attention; of the tramway, aiithdri- ! ties to the matter. A resolution; to the offcDt that under provisions of Section' 23' of. the Rating- Amendment Act,-1910, air addi-tional-charge of .1.0 per cent, be made ' on nil .rates 'unpaid at tho expiration , of six months and fourteen days from the date i.tipon'.which- sycli rates were . demanded,-was'adopted. Consideration of Councillor Ilendermotion,' "That' ill: view of the widespread desire for tho supply of gas and the impossible terms demanded by. the Wellington , C!as Company ;for.- an • extension of i).s system to tho borough, the engineer pr'eparo plans .and; estimates for the most 'up-to-date plant for the borough," was on the.
