WIRTH'S;CIRCUS, This well-known combination will appear at Wellington on Monday, February 16, for three liights only (matineo Wednesday), near Te Aro railway station. A real travelling circus and menagerie, with six ponderous elephants,. buffaloes, camels, hippopotamus, hons, tigers, panthers, leopards, jackals, polar, brown and grizzly bears, monkeys, and a large mandrill, the only ono in Australasia; a real up-to-date circus, with performing ponies, horses, horses in liberty acts, horses in menage acts, performing elephants, educated polar bears, trainded lions and- tigers; a circus and a menagerie that takes three trains to convey it from place to place. Such a circus is that owned and conducted by ..Messrs. Wirth Bros., Ltd. This season's spectacular and sensational specialities include Daredevil Desperado, the audacious aerial athlete, who will defy danger by leaping from a ns'g'it of 87 feet oil a concave platform of solid wood, upon his chest and hands; accomplished La Belle Victoria, the queen of the slack wire; the Nelson and Bastein families appear in acrobatic and rislev performances; the Firing Cadonas, Europe's .premier aerialists; the Stair Sisters, contortionists and gymnasts ; Alfredo, the flying man; the Sisters Hobson, America's wire walking prodigies, and a galaxy of turns, performing all manner of feats, including a performance by Herr Doblados's performing sheep'and pigs. Zoo open from 4 till 5 p.m. Box plan at Dresden. \ GEORGE WILLOUGHBY DRAMATIC COMPANY. The George Willoughby Dramatic Company, which is to arrive this morning in tlie Maunganui, was strengthened by the inclusion of Miss Vera Remee, a leading lady, who is a great favourite wherever islio appears. Mr. George Gross is leading man. The Wellington season of nine'nights will commence on Monday, the opening play being "The Beggar Girl's Wedding." The second production will be "No Mother to Guide Her," and oil the last night of the season, at. the request of a number of citizens, who have written to.the management, that evergreen drama, '"East Lynne," wii.l be played. The box plan opens to-morrow at the Dresden, and day sales may be obtained at Christeson's. THE' KING'S THEATRE. The major attraction at the King's Theatre this week is adong and beau-, tifully produced coloured film, including scencs-in which are depicted, tho much-discussed : tango dance. and an aeroplane race from Paris to Holland arid back' : again. Many beautiful bird's-cyo views of Dutch scenery, photographed from a swiftly-flying aeroplane, are thrown : upon the screen. A sensational feature in one of the later scenes is tho overturning of an aeroplane, and its fall to earth. The supporting pictures : are all good. ' , HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Popular appreciation of the current vaudevillo, programme at His Majesty's Theatre was evidenced in 'the" large attendance at that house of entertainment last'evening. Trick-cycling,- acrobatic juggling, slack-wire walking, and songs, dances, and comedy items in great variety all find a place on tho bill of fare. Such a programme naturally goes with a swing from first to last, and is happily free from dull spots. Tho current programme, will be'staged on the remaining nights this week.. THE EMPRESS THEATRE. "The Big Horn Massacre," the Kalem Compaiiy's sensational Indian and military feature drama, is responsible for abundant patronage at the Empress, Theatre continuous pictures. The subject was produced in the wilds of tho Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming, U.S.A., made famous for the desperate warfare maintained by the fierce Sioux Indians in the 'seventies. "The Doctor's Blind Child" (a touching Pathc drama), and ,other commendable items complete the list. A new programme will appear to-morrow. , BPJTTANIA THEATRE. , A picture-drama, detailing the, adventures of one Lilvani, a Jew, and incidentally depicting a sensational strugglo between two men in a burning house, ia the principal attraction in the current' programme at {lie Britannia Theatre. Lighter faro is presented in a number of amusing, comedy films, including "Dooley's Reward" and "Did Mother Get Her Wish?" and another good ' dramatic picture is "Fortune's Turn." _ The Musical Kennedys (four), winners of the 1912 Oswald Stoll 'Musical Act Competition, are due to arrivo from Sydney by the Maunganui this morning. They propose touring the Dominion, opening probably in Wellington at an early date.
