A total of 1000 crates is to bo shipped by the Hurunui, in l addition to the butter, and this brings tlio total for the season > to 9923 crates. The supplies of butter and cheese showed a marked falling-off towards the end of January, owing to pastures drying \ip, as a result of the spell of fine Weather. The recent doi&npour of rain has renewed the'pastures to a wonder- .' ful extent, and dairy, produce'has been coming forward more freely. With the pastures once more in excellent condition, it is. expected that .tlio'falling-off. ill the supplies of butter and cheese, as the end of the season approaches, will 'bo gradual,' as it. is hot considered that" weather conditions can now adversely: affect tho pastures to any great/extent.'
