FORTY STRIKE CASES. AFFAIR AT STILLWAtER MINE, G-roymouth, February' 9. An echo of the strike was heard in Court to-sjay, when forty persons were eharged with trespassing on the rail* way at StiUvrater Mine, when an attempt was made to life the coal bins there. The- whole of the defendants pleaded guilty, through' counsel, but did not appear. Tho criniinaLsessions of the Supreme Court opened before Mr. Justice Dcnniston. Mr. H. H. Ostler represented the Crtwn in place of Mr. Stringer, recently promoted to tho Bench. Addressing the Grand Jury, the Judge said the list was the heaviest in his experience. There were forty-four charges against- twenty-three persons, but the list was not 'so serious on examination. Thirty charges were connected with Customs fraud cases, and there wero, three sexual cases. In each there was a caso for the potty, jury. CHINESE BRAWLERS. Christchurcli/February 9. Gee Poy, a Chinaman, was stabbed in ] the temple by another Chinaman at -7.30 last night..
