Shortly after 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, a man named George 'Vfestcott, well known about Ohristcburcli, ran out of the Riecarton racecourse gate .to try 1 to catch a tramcar, Ho missed his hold and foil, and, Was run over by a trailer. ' Ho was taken to the Hospital at oiice, but was dead when admitted, At an ; inquest held this afternoon a. verdict of I accidental death Was returned, j BODY IN A PARK. □uncdin, February 8. At. an inquest bgld concerning tlio death of John Burfoot. seventeen years of ag£, who was killed by a_ collision with a motor-ear wliilo cycling, the. coroner said that it was quite clear that the occurrence was one of ptifo accident. He oould not sec that Stowe, the driver of tho cat, was to blame., and ho returned a verdict. accordingly. . MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. A lad named Ernest Trengrove, 17 years of ago, a motor engineer by trnde, met with an accident at- TJpner Hutt yesterday afternoon, while ridiivg *. a motor cvcle. Trengrovo came into collision with a motor-car! and was knocked heavily to the ground. Ho wan admitted to t-ho Hospital suffering from a compound fracture o.f the right lop;. His younger brother Was on tho motor cycle at the time, 'but escaped unhurt.
