On the rccammc'iitiation of tlie Tramways Committee it was decided that the cable to bo laid by tho. Tramways .Department to_«iable the plant of tho Kclburne. and Karori T/ain'way Company to be- operated by electricity from the tramways power house bo ccnsid.ered as part of tho capital cost of tho company's plant in. the event of. tho council taking' oyer the undertaking, provided such, cable.is of tho sizo st-ipiiJatcd bv tho Tramways Department,, and tliat it, remain in use,up to the tiilio of purchase.' Tho' cost of tlie cable -will •]» borne by tho company. ' .' . Messrs. J. J. Niven.and Co.: wore allowed to. withdraw their iem'or for tlio supply of trolley wire, M/d'' the next lowest tender, that of Messrs. R. \V. Cameron and Co., was accepted. It. was decided that the.
