ANNUAL MEETING. The eleventh annual meeting of the Wellington Accountant Students , Society was lioid last evening, Mr,' W. B. Hiictson-presiding. ' 'tha annual report of tho committeo stated that tho membership now stands at 121, a decrease of two for the year. Ten meetings wero hoB during tho year,' the average Attendance being. 27. For the purpose «f encouraging public speaking, Mr. E. W. Hunt gko a prixe of three guindasj which was won by Mr. T. Auton. At tho third examination of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, held in Novembers 1912, tho follo.wing members of f-hvj Wellington Society woto successful :•—Messrs'. F. W. Be-vin. T. H.' In discussing tho the chairman tnado mention of a, "tqg" which tho auditor, {Mr. N. J. M'Kay) had attached, drawing members' attention to an honorarium of, £10. IDs. which had beefl voted to the _Secretary (Mr. J. L. Arcus). The auditor held that a henOTarium to tho secretary was not provided for in the julos of the society. Tho chairman BUgpc*s-t.ed.th.i,t tho point raised Vy the. auditor was, in his opinion, not .or any serious import. If the society h'ae a good secretary it must support him, ».nd ilfo*honorarium was no payment to Mr. Arcus. It was moro in the character of a tribute in recognition of/tlto good work which ho had "done.' .(Hear,, hour.) The report and 3>atanee-shctt wero adopted. An informal • discussion took plaoeover the subjects dealt with in the cyllabus for the year 191243, It Was contended by some ifiotnbers that the fall-ing-off in the attendance at meetings was due to t<lo mauy law subject* in the Byllsbus.
