"The_ Times," in a special article comparing Atlantic and Australasian shipping, states that moro passenger? loave Liverpool for Now York every week than sail for Australia, India, and the Far East in a year. Shipowners maintain that the proportions of tho Australian trade at present do not justify the employment of larger and faster vessels, because a slack season means heavy loss to profit-earning.
