ALTERATION OF RULES DISCUSSED. A number of proposals for alteration of lulcr. woro discussed at a mooting of the. Management Committee, of the Wellington. ]Jo.\ing Association 'on Monday, It was nijrcpil "that the weights for the professional elinntpionships bo oa follow;— Bantam, Bst Gib. and under; feather, 9st. and under; light, Osf. 91b. and under; welter, lOst. 71b. and under; middlo, list. Gib. and under; midheavy, 1'25t.,71b.; heavy, any weight. Those are now the English and Australian weights. ( The clituiman announced that the City Council was again desirous of having a boxing tonrnej in connection with tho ccming Easier Carnival, as had been piovided by tho Association last. year. It was the unanimous opinion of thoso present that this tourney bo again piovided. and the question of bouts was discussed. Several snggcst'ious ■ for mulches wcie put forward, including lioland versus Lowo, or Cooko versus Maxwell. Also bouts provided by boxers from tho Navy, Permanent Artilicry, and 13ovs' Institute.
