DROWNING AT A FORD. TlmrtriJ, February' 3. At Waiiuate this morning a. ntan named -— AneeJl, aged about 70 years, drove a- spring cart across a ford in tho Wa.iinato Cre'e'kj instead of taking tho light traffic bridge, . and was drowned. Tito body was recovered half a mile uown-stream.
DEATH FROM: BUMS. - ■Only medical eridelip© was taken yesterday* at tho opening of the feauest concerning tho death of Bridget Dola Kight, a married- woman, who was fatal* ly bunicd on Saturday liigh-t through the upsetting of a lamp. . Dr. Mathieson, junior hoiiso surgeon at Wellington Hospital, stated that deceased was admitted to the institution at 2.45 a.m. on Sunday suffering from extensive burns all oyer the'body and pronounced shock. Her condition was hopeless from the start* and she .grain* ally sank and died at 3.30 p.m. the same day. Although she was conscious while at tho Hospital, she' could not givo arty satisfactory aecoiuit-of how the ac'cidcht ooeurred. . . Tlio inquest was adjourned till to-day.
