Mr. Atkins moved that a committee consisting of Messrs. Leigh-Hunt and Townsend be delegated to report at the next meeting. ' ! Hβ suggested that representatives of the twn Chambers of Commerce, the Farmers' Union, the Industrial Association, and other kindred bodies, should meet in conference; after having first been given a lead by the Department. . ' The question as to, whether or not Wellington .should follow, in foot-! steps of Australia in the direction of holding air public holidays on tho near.est Mondays, was brought up by Mr. LeiEch-Hunt. He favoured it. The chairman also commended , the proposal. 'A committee was appointed .to go into the matter and prepare a renort. For' the future it was decided to meet on the third Monday in each, month at 3 p.m. .'
