'ANNUAL MEETING. (By Trterranh.-Preii AwoctoUon.l Auokland, February 2. The fifty-second annual meeting of the Auckland Qae Cosipany, Ltd., was held to-day, the , chairman of directors (Mr. J. H. Upton) presiding. Receipts showed a total increase of- £19,284, very nearly 11 per cent., and expenditure an increase of £19,028, very, nearly 15 per cent. This proportion is somewhat unusual, and is owing to various causes, amongst which are the etriko, the increased cost of coal, the expense of altering the position of certain mains, and the expense of the'demonstration of gas cooking. The number of new accounts was 1922, making a total of 25,715. Tho total revenue was £195,373 12s.
