LABOUR DISPUTES.
At -the afßce- of the Conciliation Commissioner- (Mr,. P. Hally) yesterday a settlement was arrived at' , in tlio'.matter of the application for an award.govern--ing tiro working conditions of jewellers and metal workerc. The terns apjreed npon (already published) will now go forward to the Arbitration Court with a recommendation that they should be filed as an award. No settlement was made by the- par-, ties to tie iron-workers' dispute.' The chief points of difference wero regarding hours end wages. The workers asked for a 44-bonra , Veek, at Is. 4-Jd. per hour. These terms tile masters refused to grant. The dispute will in due' course be heard by the Court ot Arbitration. - !
