The victim was riding a hicyc&o behind a trap, and when coming down, an incline, it is stated that lio swerved an .to tlio side of the road. Just at that moment n car, driven by Gcorgo Stone, of Spitrbnsji, whieh -was travelling in tlio o|>posito direction, crashed inUi tho cyclist, knocking him down and passing over his body.
When picked up tho boy wns unconscious, and was driven post haste in Stone's car to tho Southland Hospital. After examination, 'however, tho doctor held out no iiopos of recovery, and tho lad expired a fow hours later. Storm stated that ho did not notico tho hoy riding behind tho trap, und ho was so close on him at tho time that it was impossible to avert an accident. Tho lad, it is understood, was forniorly an inmate of \hxs Lome- Farm, And was employed on >$r<J, Marshall's farm, at Sparbush.

A lad named Wilson, coming to Wa-> nganui by the Auckland express, was jerked from the platform of tiro train at Porewa, near Marton, yesterday, and was not missed by those on the "tram.
