Reports from Eastern steamers show that tho United States is experiencing considerable troublo in the Philippines in subduing tho Moros tribesmen'recently. Tho Moros ambushed an American officer and hacked him to pieces. Tho opinion is expressed in sonio quarters that the Philippines are likely to secure independence. It is considered that in event•of such a happening serious troublo would be experienced by tho Filipinos, who would be unable to copo with tho Moros.
