It was felt that the loss would ' be great if Mr. Ellison retired, as he has 1 been tlio men's' represeiitativo ever since tho Police Provident Board was merged with the Civil Service Superannuation Board..', A resolution was also passed at the /meeting thanking the superintendent for his services in the past, and expressing confidence -in 'him as tlio futuro': representative of tho branch. Tlio result of tho meeting was placed' before Inspector Ellison, who said that" as' it .was the wish of the men that ho should continue to act, ho would allow himself .to bo again nominated. Tlio reason why Inspector Ellison decided not to seek re-election was because the regulations will compel him to retire before ho can complete the full term for which ho would be elected, namely, tlireg years. The oilier retiring members aro Messrs.- A. T. Markman and H. A'. R. Huggini (Post and Telegraph), .ind Messrs. G. AllpoTt, H. W. Bishop, and Malcolm Fraser (other services).
