CARE FOR ANIMALS.
'Hie , fortnightly- meeting of the Society, for tho Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held in the society's rooma, Winder's Buildings, last oveniug. Mr. 11. H. Webb presided. ■
It was decided to institute proceedings against the-owner of a horso'which,it was stated, had not been attended to although the owner had been warned that it "was suffering from 'a malady which rendered treatment imperative.
Another horse-owner is to bo written to to the effect that, unless a decrepit horso of his is destroyed, proceedings will bo taken.
Inspector Seed reported that ho had in hand a ease regarding n decrepit horso which was not- fit for work. Three other horses had been destroyed by his order. Minor' cases were also reported, en.
