SWIFTS DEFEAT WELLINGTON. ! The water polo, championship was advanced another stage at Te Aro Baths on Saturday, when Swifts met and defeated Wellington by 7 goals to 4. The Wellington men had all thfc best of the (irst spell, and at half-time had registered 3 goals to Swifts 1. From then on, however, Swifts had it all their own way, rattling on*6 goals before timo was called. Swifts' goals were' obtained by Fordham (3), M'Grath and .Tcnkinson (2), while Morpoth (3), and Stratford (1) were the scorers for Wellington. Mr. G. Sadd was referee. Old Boys and Wellington have- yet to meei in the second round, hut at present the championship points aro distributed as follow:—Swifts, 6; Wellington, '1; Old Boys, 0. Junior Games. Wellington B defeated Old Boys by 6 goals to 1. ' Thprndon were victorious over Worser Bay by 2 goals to 1. Mr. Bridge reforeed both games. YACHTING. TE RURU CLUB RACE. The To Rum Club's general handicap event, which was postponed from Anniversary Day on account of the boisterous weather, was decided on Saturday afternoon. Twelve yachts took part in the race, which resulted as under: — Lizzio_(3min.) 1 Rawene (6niin.) 2 Viking (scr.) 3 Also started: May (28min.), Mahaki (ISmin.), Waimoa (lOmin.), Mona (lOmin.). Venus (omin.), Dauntless (omin.),'Amai (Omin.), Sea Bird (Dmin.), and Trixy. (3min.). Tho finishing times of tho placed boats were: Lizzie. 5.34 p.m.; Rawene, 5.41 p.m.; and Viking, 5.35 p.m. t _
