The insurances' are; Coombs (adjoining shop), stock £100, and building £200, both in the.State office. Tho promptness of tho brigade saved the block. Invercargill, Januavy 24. A fire broke out at 2 o'clock at Gordon M'Kenzie's tobacconist shop, and spread to the shop ocoupied by _S. Ooldie, draper. The building", with its contents, was entirely destroyed. The' insurances are! Goldie's stock, £500 in the.-North British—loss £300; M'Kenzie's stock, £160 in tho Now, Zealand— 10ss'£70; building, £500 in the Ocean. ! Palmerston North, January 24. A big, boardiiighauso at the Miranui fiaxmill, Niokenia, Was totally destroyed by fire at 2 o'clock this morning. The insurances total £900 on the building in the .Royal office, and £650 on tho stock and furniture and two billiard tables (offico not ascertainable). There is a heavy loss over the insurance.
