RIFLE-SHOOTING.

.THE BIG DOMINION MEETING., Arrangements arc now well in hand for th« Dominion Rifle ' Association meeting, which commences towards tho end of next month. Colonel Collins, chief executive officer of the-associ-atiou, has inspected tho range, and noted the many improvements made. These include a miniature range. He is sending out an officer at once to note any requirements needed, bo that they can bo put in before the meeting starts. _ ..There will be numerous innovations this year, chief amongst them beiag the substitution of civilian markers, ill place of Permanent Artillery men. . This lm been rendered necessary by the fact that the Defence Department is unable this year to detail mftn for tbe work. Some twenty-four N.C.O.'s will, however, be available for telephono work, and supervision of tho trendies. Another innovation will-be in the catering ; department. • . Previously tho association has carried' this important work ■ out themselves. This year it has been let, and will be in tho hands of Mrs. Hagan, who has already had considerable' experience' in catering for rifla j meetings and other gatherings. In addition to the usual booth's this year, provision will -be mado for afternoon tea and refreshment rooms. A billiard saloon has also been erected adjacent to tho range, -and no doubt will fie extensively availed of by the meu attending. It is understood that C-olono) Collins intends to.give tho first matches in tbe bull's-eyo chnmpionship on the first day of tho meeting, a'nd take tho Servic" matches .Inter, so that it behoves all competitors to be nressent at the start.
