Sulzer swore that Charles Murphy, tho Tammany leader, had threatened to wreok tho Sulzei- administration unless ho (Sulzer) appointed Murphy's immin.ee as Highways Commissioner. He refused to appoint the man, as lie had attempted somo graft business, and had thereby disgraced tho State. Sulzer declared that thereafter Murphy used all the Tammany influence to drive him out of office. :""
