The fire' appliances were powerless to cope with the raging flames. The lire eventually bnrtied itself out. . Tho church on tho opposite side .of tho ■ street narrowly .escaped destruction. The' fire also damaged the electrical power cables, ■rendering the plant of the "Westralia" newspaper useless. The paper was unable to publish to-day.
