The Commonwealth authorities are demanding the payment of the duty , on the dredge which was borrowed from Now Zealand by the Victorian Government. The State refuses to pay, as' the dredge was engaged for two years, then returning to New Zealand. The Premier of Victoria (Tvlr. Watt) is addressing a letter to the Primo.Jlinistor ('Mr. Cook), pointing out what h<v considers to be the absurd attitude of the Commonwealth Government.
