The local board of tho Talisman Goldmining Company visited the mine last week-end. The worlc of sinking the Woodstock shaft to the- 500 ft. level is now com* pleted, with the exception of tho installation of the pump workings from the 250 ft. level down. It i<< anticipated that tliia will be finished within 10 or 12 weeks. Tills will then enable tho management to nut in hand at. onco vigorous osporatorv workin the northern end of the mine, and will facilitate the handling of the water. A cross-cut- will he driven which is eipeeted to intercent. the Maria or Talisman reef within 100 ft., 'and will then be extended westward to cut. t.lm Woodstock reef nt depth. Driving north and south on the Talisman reef will, nt tho same time, be pushed on, and. when the north drive cots out far enough into the Taukanel Hill "a, cross-cut will be taken out. east and west to cut t.hc Crown and various other reefs known to exist there. The Talisman shift will also be. sunk on the 15th level. The country rock in the Bonanza, saition of tho mine still continues of a. favourable nature widths and values of the reef os 'exposed in the No. 6 winze now going down from tho 14th level at the north end of the Bonanza shoot tend to confirm the theory that the Bonanza shoot is extending northwards at. dentil. At tho bottom of tho Woodstock shaft the country rock al'o looks favourable ond better than It did higher up in the shaft.
