HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS.
TO-MORROWS FIXTURES.
'Anniversary Day, which will he observed to-morrow as a general holiday in the Wellington Province, provides a suitable date for the holding of a number of important sporting fixtures. The chief attraction for residents of AVellington and district will bo the second day's racing in connection with the Trcntham Summer Meeting, and, if the weather is fine to-morrow, it is anticipated that well over ten thousand people will congregato on the Wellington Club's beautiful racccourso. Another race meeting will bo held at the river port of Foxton, where something like one hundred horses will bo competing. Cricket inatehos will bo plnyed on the Basin Reserve. Kelburne Park, and at AVellington College, the most important of these being that between the Wednesday and Saturday representatives on the Basin Reserve. The Early Settlors' Association has arranged a big reunion, which will include old-time sports, children's sports, and amusing side-shows at Newtown Park. Other local events include the rogatta, swimming sports at AVorscr Bay, and athletic sports at Seatoun Park. The AVellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Championships take place r.t Mastdrton. while at Otaki tjiere will be an inter-club tenuis match, Victoria College v. Otaki, and further afield the Dannevirke Lawn Tennis Club's championships. at Dannevirke. "For riflemen there is a meeting at Palinorston North.
