SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
An excellent concert was arrangedat tho Sailors' Friend Society last evening by Mrs. Small, and was given before a large and appreciative audience. The following contributed items to the programme : —Misses Pepper, Jones, Messrs Miller, Culverwell, Parsons, Sorell, Marshall (R.M.S. Tainui). Several popular choruses were : sung by the audience, Mr. Miller playing tho accompaniments. During' a short interval Mr. Jas. Moore delivered a helpful address on the temperance questfon, which resulted \n several, men signing the pledge. A hearty, vote of thanks was given the performers at tho conclusion of the concert.
