A fifty yards race held on Saturday by tho Wellington Swimming Cl'ub resulted as follows:—H. Hall, 16sec., 1; A. Walling, 9sec., 2; A. Ynramo, 2sec., 3. Time, ilsec. Also started: C. Won with two or tlireo yards to spare, close finish between second and third. NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. Tho Council of the New Zealand Swimming Association has decided that the representatives of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association upon the Olympic Council of New Zealand shall bo tho chairman and secretary of the Swimming Centro of tho Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, whoso headquarters shall be in the samo district as the Olympic Council is situated, excepting in tho caso of the headquarters of tho Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association'and tho Olympic Council being stationed in tlio samo district, in which case tho chairman and the honorary secretary of the Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association Shall be the representatives. At its meeting last week the council also set up a sub-committee,to draft, a letter to the minister of Internal Affairs setting out the reasons why tlio sum of £150 of tho grant of £300 paid annually to tho association should not be paid direct to the Royal Life-Saving Society as that body had requested. It was reported thaLtlia-Auckland .Centro had not sent in'anjf report or balanoa-sheet, tho Wellington Centro had a largo proportion of affiliation fees outstanding, and tho Westland Centro had no mention of any rtceipts or expenditure other than that- of' tho Gov--ernment grant.
