FIRES.
(By Telegraph—Prosß Association.) ■ ' Felldlng, January 19. A sis-roomed house on tho Awahuri ""■'"■'Road, hear Feilding, was destroyed By fire on Saturday night, through a detective chimney. Most of the furnitura was saved. Mr. D. Cooper, the owner, is away, and tho insurance is not known. Mr. Hayes, tho occupier, had his furniture insured for £100 in the Northern office. Auckland, January 19. A six-roomed house, with tho furniture and effects, also an empty shop, in Mount Eden Road, owned and occupied by Mr. A. Chillinger, were destroyed by firo at midnight. Tho occupants lescapcd in thdir night-clothes. The furniture was uninsured. It is understood tliero was an insurance of £150 on the house and shop.
