CRICKET CONTROL IN AUSTRALIA.
THWARTED BY PRIVATELY-»■« ARRANGED TOUfiS. -' '.; By Telegraph—Preen Association—Oepyriffiit Sydney, January 15. Mr. Austin Diamond, of Sydney, who was captain of the Australian cricket team which visited America, and Mr. Dow, of Adelaide, who was treasurer, are organising another team to leave in April. Matches will be played in tho United States and Canada. The programme also includes Bermuda and the East Indies. The "Sydney Morning Herald" thus comments on tho proposal:—"No notification lias been given to the Board of Control, and it is stated in somo quarters that the object of the tour is to secure prominent- players, thus thwarting the board's efforts to select a firstclass team for South Afrrca. Players have received invitations in a confidential way. This system of secretly organising teams will probably result its as much chaos as existed .in the cricket world a few years ago, when a number of prominent Australian players refused to recognise the authority." .;
