George Lindsay," a blacksmith, who was employed by the Miliiuru Lime and Cement- Co., and who' was injured by a fall from a ladder- at the company's works, died at the Hospital this afternoon from concussion of the brain, never having regained consciousness. SUPPOSED CASE OF POISONING. Poison, "self-administered! was apparently the cause of tho death of a young man named Philip. Angel, who' was found in a dying condition in tlio Pirio Street- Reserve, at about 7 o'clock yesterday . morning. Miss M'Lean heard some one' 'groaning in tho morning at .ths back" of her mother's residence''in Scarborough Terrace. On investigation being made deceased'was found in a critical condition and suffering great pain. Ha asked for-a drink of water and expired shortly before tho arrival of Dr.' Elliot, who had been summoned. Just before ho passed away Angel stated that ho had taken poison. Tlio body was-examined by Dr. Elliott and no marks of. violence wore found. The polico were communicated with by telophoiie- and-tie body was removed to the morgue. Deceased was known as a city vagrant and has been staying at tlio Salvation Army Homo, on and off for tho past'.'l2'i months.. ■ He- was a. ship's fireman arid was'at one time a member of tuo Wellington Seamen's Union.
