Madame Sophy Ilathlou, of Copenhagen, is suing Mr. Alfred Copland, Admiral E. H. M. Davis, and Mr. William Ilay, directors of a Papuan Trading and Planting Syndicate, alleging that she invested £5750 owing to misrepresentations. The syndicate acquired 12,600 acres from one Bert Hayes. The defendant's eot'iisel alleged that Hayes disappeared when trouble arose.
