It is understood that some slight controversy prevails as to the wisdom of separating the Lands Registry Department from the Survey Department. Mr. H. G. Ell, M.P., is interesting himself in the matter, ami has communicated with the Prime Minister. It is'represented that a great <lenl of difficulty and delay to legal and associated professions will be claused by the separation of the, two Departments.
